One of Southwest Austin’s smaller neighborhoods is Deer Haven with 59 home sites. This neighborhood was developed in 2003-2004 by David Weekly. Lot sizes are larger than most in the area with sizes ranging from .18 – .23 acres. Home sizes range from around 2,000 – to above 3,000 sqft.
This subdivision is located between Loop 1 (Mopac) and Brodie Lane just South of Davis Lane. There are two main entrances to the neighborhood; One on Davis and one on Ovalla Drive.
Residents of Deer Haven enjoy a short commute to nearby business, restaurants, and parks. Just minutes away on Brodie Lane is a shopping center which has Randal’s Grocery, Brick Oven Pizza, Galaxy Café, and Maudie’s Hacienda. Close by Dick Nicholas Park allows for cycling, walking, and just plain relaxing!
Due to the small size of Deer Haven, there hasn’t been a lot of real estate activity over the past couple of years. For 2010, homes sales were mostly between $260,000 – $300,000. One of the most unique characteristics of Deer Haven is that several of the homes back to a green belt (Blowing Sink Preserve).
